Career Exploration

Welcome to Career Exploration at Alabama A&M University.  This site is an amalgamation of assessment and investigative tools to aid in the discovery of the world of work and one's place in it.  Undecided /undeclared majors are encouraged to identify their career choice.  This process involves career skills analysis, educational assessment, career exploration, decision making and major identification.  Exploring your career options ensures that you will increase your chances of finding a job, and also in finding career fulfillment. While exploring the world of work and researching your career choices, be sure to note what workers do on the job, what the salary scale is, what the chances for advancement are and take a look at the working conditions.  Also pay close attention to other related occupations.  You may find a career you were unaware of.  Another way to research careers is through the professional organizations.  Look for national, regional and local associations as well as organizations.  For example: National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) American Psychological Association (APA), etc.

Become your career dream

The world of work is constantly changing and maintaining.  Defining career goals can be challenging.  Inaction may lead to a lack of self determination.  Don't limit yourself to what know.  Open up to new realities many of which have yet to evolve.  Become your career dream.
